Vray as a Standalone renderer?

I seem to recall at one time seeing that there was gonig to be a standalone version of V-Ray. Had a look over in Announcements but didn't see anything. Can someone fill me in?

probably not for a while.....since it seems like chaos is concetrating on v1.1 and additional features for that and missing features like DR in max6 .............

but who knows....

It was mentioned in passing once upon a time.. I'd say to not hold your breath, but there is hope

If I recall correctly, they've posted images that were rendered with something along those lines. My guess is that it already exists but it's just not up to par for a release.
