Thanks. I am not sure how he captures such great images, but I have been looking at them for about an hour.

Too bad none of the images contain the exposure used. All the other information is still in the file, but exposure. Would give you a pretty good start with f16 / ISO 200 / 24mm lens, etc.

Yep, except the VRay Physical camera still needs an exposure value.

exposure is an irrelevant piece of information that wont make any difference. there are hundreds of variables that affect brightness of a scene so unless you know the kind of bulbs used, how big the windows are, how bright the sky was (was it overcast) and if he brought extra lights with him it's a completely useless piece of information. don't get so hung up on the real world.

My best stuff uses real world data. I use a FotoSharp Day & Night Exposure Guide, and I love it. I keep my camera at what it "should be", and I adjust everything else to work with it. For me, I need a good starting place that makes sense. This, for me, keeps those variables down. Things like light bulbs; V-Ray makes no sense to me when it comes to real world values, so I just turn them up until they look good with my real world camera settings. If I know the camera is correct, then nothing else matters.

                  oh I have that lens,

its 24mm tilt shift, and the only points worth copying is the 24mm bit and the f16 (only if doing DOF), and the f16 it used to minimize it and keep everything in focus. and then the shift amount, which is called offset in vray 2.4 physcam.

though i bet its at 24mm because that's the widest tilt shift lens nikon makes. canon do an 17mm which would be nice.
