    Does anyone know how to unstitch or convert a Quicktime VR scene into a single panoramic image? A scene like this http://216.127.92.205/samples/rtk/solarium01.mov for instance. Is there a software out to do this?

    Thanks!

    I'd say you'd need the original image used for the VR.

      I may be wrong, but i think the panorama viewer that comes with the pano creator in Viz4 (Might be in max also, but haven't looked) can Open up panoramas and save them out to various types (cyl/sphere).

      I forget, so check it

        Thanks Dave.

        The max 6 viewer does indeed open the .mov file format but it remaps it to create a new pano. Exporting Cylinder or Sphere just makes a still image. I also had the same experience when making a pano from a max scene. Once the frames were rendered I could export Cylinder, Sphere, and QTVR. But when I tried to open the .mov file it still just remaps it

          I really don't think it would be possible, when the images are stitched you lose data in the overlapping areas, I can't imagine that ever being recovered.

            doh..

            ok, in some cases you can *export* the six faces of the qtvr.... take care, it can be not legal to do it.

            1. you have to change the controller from qtvr to normal movie controller:
            - movie->get movie properties.
            - in the dialog you have two dropdowns.. change the Right to "Controller" and select in the list below the "movie controller"... close!

            2. enable the movietracks (every side of the qtvr is one frame)
            - edit -> enable tracks
            - click on videotrack and look what happens

            now you can export evey frame(side) of the movie to bmp.

            remember... there is a copyright!
