just a quickie, where do you recommend for really good quality 3d cars these days? considering putting a car in a series of arch viz renders, and want to to be the business. (probably a classic, something curvy)
I've bought Squir and Humster3d cars in the past, both I've been really disappointed with, they are only good if the car is in the distance. Up close they just doesn't cut it.

kind of what I suspected, any suggestions Thomas?
downloaded a humster3d one, will probably be good enough for my uses but still interested if there is anyone doing a better job
with 3d assets in general, it pisses me off if the materials arent at least set up as a multi-sub object so that I can quickly make proxies..
So far i have yet to see anything that is even half decent in regards to accuracy and quality. We might have a higher expectation though i guess.
Do you mainly find it's things like the Headlights where they fall down? It seems like if you don't have the right shape to some of the glass over the lights and reflectors then you've to do a lot of fakes to get the correct look. I presume you're only using cad data on your projects?
Yes its mainly headlights. However I do spend around 12+ hours on each my purchase model to make it look good. It goes down to redoing all bevels/chamfers and definitely headlights/tail lights.
The newer evermotion ones are ok, but i'd never drop one in the foreground of a still. Also need an upsetting amount of work basically re-doing the materials.

Well lights in general are usually just laughable. But that's only the tip of the iceberg. Topology is really bad causing all sorts of weird looks (ranging from wobbly reflections over to big/chamfered clearances to odd surfaces in general) and even proportion and basic features are often way off if you really take a look.
We use pretty much CAD only yes, unless the OEM is unable to provide it..which is really rare these days. It comes with its own big set of issues, accuracy and detail usually are not luckily
