  • creating a clean RAWgi layer

RAWgi, by design, is likely to always be quite dirty in places (dark, highly reflective areas for example).

What other elements could be combined (in Photoshop) to simulate a clean RAWgi?

<have I already asked this question or was I having a very sad dream last night???>
    Kind Regards,

Simulate rawgi? U cant. Its how ur GI map looks like in its purest. U can recreate GI by subtracting diffuse from GI which should produce RAW GI but other ways its just ur GI map. Get ur gi map settings better to make it look better...

RawGI is GI divided by Diffuse, not subtracted.

To simulate you could render with a an override material and put a white material in the base and the original material in the GI override.

That, or increase the render quality as DADAL said.
