  • google earth 3d terrain

After some research, as far as I can tell, you can bring 3d buildings into google earth but 3d terrains inserted into google earth will suffer in areas where the newly inserted terrain into google earth is lower than the existing google terrain, the new 3d terrain will disappear in those areas. in other words, it is not possible to carve out a hole in google earth terrain and place new terrain into the hole. Am I correct on this? has anyone looked into this? (A client of ours wants to insert our 3d grading plans into google earth)

Agreed. Only alternative I've suggested to folks I've seen wanting to do this before is turn terrain off so the actual GE surface drops down and then build your own version of the existing terrain with cuts as needed. I don't think any have gone that way but I have yet to see GE offer a better option.
