  • Sweep distortion in corners - how to deal with it

    Hi all

So if I sweep something on my path, at tends to distort or "cross" vertices in the corners. It's fine to just align to the outside instead of the inside, but mostly the path is such that it turns left as well as right. So in that case doesnt matter if I align inside, outside, or center. The corners results in polys crossing each other.

AutoCAD's sweep works like expected as in NO issues in the corners, but I need it to work correct in max.

Alternatively, can I use the "Secondary rays bias" to fix the artifacts that result during render because of double faces? Maybe increase the rays bias from 0.0 to 0.001?

Any help or suggestions will be appreaciated
    Kind Regards,
    Morne

What's the status of the optimize option in your sweep spline? I can get sweep to cross polygons if this is off, but if on it works perfectly

Switching optimize on/off doesnt fix it

See this attached file for what I mean (this is a simplified version)
