My only envious new feature of Max 2015 is Placement Tools. Others are nothing to do with me. hahaha

I really don’t know what to say.
Is Max going to meet the same fate as SI?

I sincerely hope not... it certainly looks like they want to push the apps in different directions though.

I don't have the time to read and compare right now, but what is your conclusion?

Update: Wow, now I read it, there is almost nothing there???

              Wow that's truly depressing.

Vlado if I may suggest... it might be good time to start making vray standalone app like vred/bunkspeed/keyshot etc etc... - might be good challenge for ex XSI people?

What makes you think we have not started long ago

To me this release of maya and max it's clear statement that the letter it's gonna cross its path with xsi.

Ummm, yes. Is there a beta? We've pretty much stopped using Bunkspeed because it's so incredibly unstable and they've all but stopped support. But we haven't committed to anything else yet either. We just groan when we have to do a rendering in bunkspeed because you pretty much know you'll have to fight with the software to get it to work.

That's it??? Just quad chamfer for modeling! I've hade a plug in for that years ago...this is really sad.

I think we can have hope in the new team. Martin Coven and Tom Hudson who couldn't do anyting for v 2015. It seems there was nobody to direct 3ds max dev for the 2015 version. And there is also some mention of VFXguide about the max team integrasting bifrost at some point in the next future.

The placement tool is amazing and the viewport really fast. I remember some times when maya got nothing and max got a lot... And I like the way they are adressing small anoying things. but yes we have to be patient for the big stuff to come in max..

They've got nested layers, finally. I do that with Outliner, but with it inside the core of Max it should work better with x-refs and such.
