material library annoyance

i opened a material library in the material browser about 2 months ago for something.. now its always there and spends at least 15 seconds finding maps etc, every time i open the material browser. in the past ive right clicked on it (or some blank space in the mat-browser, dont remember) and chosen "close material library"

now this option isnt even shown.

i wrote this message once last week, but one last ditch try and bam, the option to close was there, so i closed it.. all fine. deleted my post.


opened max again and its bloody back. and no "close" option to be seen.

anyone else had this? know how to fix it?

I think you may be falling for the same issue i always fall for. "Close Material library" is available if you open the material browser via the render menu, or via the "get Material" button for example. It is NOT available if you open the browser by clicking a "pick material" button in any of your mats/maps.
