  • New SoulburnScript: Keyshot like workflow for 3dsmax

Figured I'd post this here since the first version of the software will ship tailored to vray. Ever wanted a keyshot like workflow in 3dsmax? Well, I did too:

Looks superb Neil. Have to say though I'm a little disappointed you didn't use Meshuggah as the sound track! (That is where you chose your online name from, right?).

I'm looking to release it in May if everything goes well.

Oh, I would have loved to choose something more metal like, however, I don't want to use music without the artists permission, so I decided to go with a friend's music, which I still think works quite well. And yes, my name does come from the Meshuggah song

One last derail, I actually had the name before "Destroy Erase Improve" came out, I got access to a 3 song demo that contained that song about 3 years earlier in 1993. Loved the song, loved the name, so decided to call my home studio Soulburn Studio. Of course, the version on DEI is a way better version of the song

                    Very nice!...
How does the placement of models work? I couldn't tell from the speed of the video, we current use HCG asset browser mainly because of the ease if placing, rotating, coping objects directly on top of surfaces. Huge time saver when propping large scenes.

There are a few simple options, like loading the model at the origin, loading the model and aligning it to the currently selected object, etc. But it's not meant as a placement tool really, just a way to get the model into the scene, for more advanced placing options, I'd use the soulburnscript objectPainter, or SurfaceSnapper, both of which are available right now: http://www.neilblevins.com/cg_tools/...urnscripts.htm Or you could try that new place object on surface tool in max 2015.
