  • GPS satellites?

    Hello all,

I'm being really stupid, but here goes....
I am doing a lovely little animation for a opening title sequence that requires me to do a flyby of a globe with GPS satellites orbitting. Now, i have searched high and low on the interweb and have discovered that GPS uses 24 satellites orbitting the globe. But i am reading conflicting data and for the life of me can't figure out how to position the sats around the world. I know that 4 sats share each orbit and there are six orbits. I can't believe i can't do this as i studied physics at uni for 3 years, but there you go. So my 2 questions are:

1: Does anyone have a file or know how to position the sats around globe? I have created 6 circles and attached 4 sats on each, but then get mixed up.

2: Are the sats geostationary or orbiting? I have read sites saying both, but i'm pretty sure they are geostationary.

    Thanks you all any help.

    Regards,

    Marc

I'm pretty sure that they are (geosynchronously <--sp?) positioned I just asked a coworker who's an avid mountain climber/ outdoorsman. I'd imagine that you get so much conflicting data because of constantly changing regulations on GPS.
