what's the best way to join these separate elements?

I tried joining them with different ID's and welding them, but it got pretty ugly.

You could try using Bridge under edge

so ant stitcher does not work? I was looking into that, too, awhile back, but lost track of it. Now I just start over if that happens, lol.
