  • multi/sub-object and vray materials

Hopefully this is simple and possible.
How may I have the max standard multi/sub-object material, use vray materials instead of standard?

For example, if I were to add another material to the multi/sub, it uses a standard material by default causing a few extra steps, each time, to replace it with vraymaterial.
    TIA

You can't change that. It is hard-coded into the Multi/Sub-object material. Best to report this to Autodesk and request it to be customizable.

One thing that could help a tiny bit is to use Neil Blevin's script "materialMoverCleanMeditVrayMtl" (part of the Soulburn script pack). It's just like Reset Material Editor Slots, but fills your material editor with VRay materials, so you can quickly drag and drop a nearby one into your Multi.

Good idea Geoff, thanks! I have the Soulburn pack but had never tried that one (among others.)
