  • Problem using Vray with RPmanager and Deadline combo

So I don't normally work on animations but am up to my eyes in one at the moment and am hitting a bit of a snag that I'm sure will be a pretty easy fix but I can't seem to figure this one out.

The problem is when trying to calculate the Irradiance Maps for each shot. I'm using multiframe incremental and the lightcache is set to 'from file' as it's already been calculated. When I fire each pass to my farm through RPManager to Deadline, everything seems to render as it should for the first frame, however when it starts rendering the 2nd frame of the irradiance map calc, the frame buffer closes then opens up blank before calculating the proceeding frames. It looks like the IM frame calculations are being overwritten rather than added to because when I do a test render there seems to be a lot of dark patches and missing info. When I render these calculations on my local machine from RPManager however, everything works correctly and the IR maps work just fine but it's not an ideal solution.

Any ideas why this happens and if there's a setting I can change to get this working on the farm?

    irmap calc pass
    IRmap set to multiframe incremental
Light cache set to fly through
    Save these maps somewhere.

Light cache is calculated and then incorporated into the irmap file.

    For final render
set irmap to from file and locate your vmap

Turn off the light cache i.e. you can set secondary bounce in the gi panel to none.

Optionally you can use the light cache to calculate glossy reflections by ticking the use light cache for glossies box (do this, it will speed up renders a lot)
If you do this then leave light cache turned on and set it to single frame.
