Max VS Design BackBurner 2014

Hi all

I have a bunch of max installs, and 2 max design installs. All same version and same vray version and same other plugin versions.

The 2 max design servers however, doesnt participate in any BackBurner jobs. They connect to the manager, but just sit their idling and ready. They don't receive any jobs from the manager and the manager doesnt even attempt to send them the job, even if explicity forcing it to via the monitor.

Any ideas?

2014 SP4 and SP5 added something that differentiates between Max and Design. There are 2 fixes - one is you add an environment variable that tells BB it's ok to mix Max & Design on the farm. The other is to roll back to SP3. We ended up rolling back to SP3 as 4/5 weren't critical to us and weren't worth the effort to make the farm work again.
