  • camera clipping in orthographic

    Hey guys.
    Can anyone slove this issue.
We have a large scene set to meters which needs to be rendered in orthographic view but half the village gets clipped off and we cant work out why.
The near and far clipping planes dont have much effect. The far clipping plane seems to adjust the rear of the image but the near has no effect all all and this clipping stays the same even if you move the camera in-out.

We are not using vray camera just maya standard.
It's a bit of a long shot but has anyone encountered this before?

Thanks for any helpClick image for larger version

Can you get us the scene and leave just the camera in there and an object for the ground plane?
Have you tried settings the near plane to a very low value, like 0.00001?
Does the clipping also affect the render? I remember there being an option for this in the maya camera settings.
This seems like a Maya thing.

Well, I just unlocked the Y translation of the camera and it fixed it for me. Other than that, I'd guess it's something specific to Maya 2015. The same scene doesn't clip the view in 2014.

On a side note, I'm using 2015 SP 2 (and it still clips the view for me).
