  • 2D/3D Dream Machine?

Greetings everyone, I have by chosen to look around for a “Dream Machine (PC)” for sake of 2d/3d visualizations.

The chosen programs will most likely be, Maya 5 (or 6), Photoshop CS, After Effects, possibly Combustion and possibly z-brush. The computer will most likely be a Dual CPU, 2-4 Gigs ram, optimal graphic card and optimal raid/skis Hard drives. Basically the best bang for the buck.

The other question is, should it be bought in whole (eg from Dell, Boxx ect..) or should it be homebrewed for optimal price?

Now please, what in your experiences have you found to be the best hardware in your real world situations?

    Thank you very much

well, If I had the money to throw around, Id buy a premade comp, probably a boxx. But since I never have, Ive always built my own. I cant possibly keep up with all the new changes these days, so when Im ready to build, I usually go to a website or two that have articles on building the biggest baddest mofo and go from there. www.sharkyextreme.com has one. Its usually not dual cpu, but it has all the best of the rest components.

Yea if you have the cash definately go with a boxx. With them you'll get the best bang for the buck and they have an excelent warranty.
