  • Libraries of people in motion (blurred, static images)

    Does anyone know if this kind of thing exists? Matting a blurred photo is trick at the best of times. I would imagine a better approach would be to use animated 3D people and render them with motion blur so they can be removed from their backgrounds easily.

    Your method is what I've done in the past, but I try to go down and shoot people against relatively flat backgrounds and comp them in when needed. If you go looking for a decent location you can usually find somewhere with a flat background. Go down on an overcast day and you can achieve something.

    I do wish there were some proper libraries out there though...

      I actually just had a quick play with Populate (Max 2014). Rendering through a vray camera with a very slow shutter speed gives a fabulous alpha. It has potential I think.
