I teach design visualization to interior design students at the School of Visual Arts. The class involves the typical workflow of AutoCAD, into Max, and then some Photoshop..... of course I teach basic V-ray
Since it's ton of material to cover in a semester I have simplified things in the past by setting up render presets for V-Ray.
I was stoked to see that V-Ray 3.0 came with built in presets....but the "ArchViz Interior" preset does not have GI turned on nor will it render anything if you don't have a light source. If I ignore the preset and merely assign V-Ray as the render engine you get a rendered image....not a blank screen. Of course I understand how to switch this but what I don't understand is how a new ignorant user would troubleshoot or understand the preset. Thoughts? am I missing something?
