Add a line in your contract/proposals that states when a rendering is used publicly you must be credited. It is standard practice for the larger studios.

Great idea! I might have to do that from now on.

I have been stuck on a project for the last 18months of my life that has the harshest NDA I have come across.
I can't even tell my wife what I am working on.

At least we can pretend that we work for the CIA on top secrete government work.

ha, that seems excessive. is it justified?

It is justified if you knew who the end client was and what the project is about.
It has been 18months of very quick turn around work and the money has been good.
Worth it in the long run? Maybe not. We will see if the project is successful!

I'm going to guess Star Wars. It's Star Wars, isn't it.

In all seriousness, every job we do is covered by an NDA but it would take a LOT for me to agree to do a project that could never see the light of day, ever. I would never turn down work covered by an NDA, just make sure that we can show it at some point.

The only exception to this is a job I did recently visualising some products that I can never show, but it involved modelling some characters from a TV show I love, so I just couldn't turn it down.

As for keeping things from your wife? That's just weird... I'm not saying you bring your other half in on conference calls, but if you seriously can't trust your WIFE not to tell someone else that's a pretty strange situation.

I know it is crazy but that is the NDA that I have signed.
