  • updating while cerating...

I always measure things with a rectangle... in max 2014 this was no problem, because the rectangle has updated its dimension while creating http://c2n.me/3apOhtj but in max 2015 this is a problem, because you see its dimension only if you HAVE created it, after releasing the mouse button... http://c2n.me/3apNAQA

any ideas to change it to have it like in max 2014?

    best regards

Using 3ds max design 2015 here and drawing rectangles works as you show in 2014, dimensions are updated while drawing.
I don't know of any setting that would change this behaviour.

Might be dependent upon the video driver you're using perhaps... Nitrous? D3D? (11/10?).

I'm using max 2014 and sometimes it shows the dimensions as you draw other times it does not. Not sure why !

Arh ! Tried again this morning and now it doesn't work anymore !!

Edit : restarting 3ds max and drawing a rectangle in an empty new scene does work as expected : dimensions are updated while drawing. But if I try this on an existing scene it doesn't work anymore.

I have found out that the scene explorer in max 2015 is the problem for me... if I close it everything is working. http://clip2net.com/s/3arktHI
so there's a problem with the new scene explorer I think. it's strange that this is a random issue and not all user have one.

I don't use scene explorer anymore because it is unusable with heavy scenes. I have ditched it for the old select by name dialog that does the job.

EDIT : Oh well, you're right. My fault. Actually the scene explorer is also used to manage the layers. I had it open indeed when making my tests. Closing it does solve the issue.

Interesting! Please submit a bug report to Autodesk so they can get on the job.
