doing some mental shopping, and in my imaginary shopping basket are several of the new titan X 12gb boards due out soon. finally a gpu with enough ram to handle at least some of the jobs i do.
im intrigued by the possibility of whacking 4 of them in something like the cubix xpander, or should i say, i was, till i saw the price. they are insanely overpriced. 2700 dollars for a box to put your gpus in? for that price i could get a decent workstation with 4 pcie slots and put them in that. id then have a workstation to use too.
why o why is it so expensive? they even have the nerve to say its an economically priced alternative to putting them in a computer.
so, any sensibly priced alternatives?
