  • 3dsmax 2015 install as well as 2014?

We have been running Max2014 for a while now and all seems reasonably stable. We are reluctant to upgrade to 2015 (though we have paid for it through our subscription) because of possible issues that may or may not arise.

We have just had our subs renewal form through again. It is a farce that we MUST be on the subscription program at all, but that's another discussion!

What I wonder is if Max2015 can co-exist with Max2014 safely (with vray, bercon, forestpro etc etc) on the same system? I'm pretty sure we've had Max2009 at the same time as 2011, but can't recall if we had any issues.
    Kind Regards,
    Richard Birket

just be careful with backburner. make sure you running the same version everywhere.

          otherwise fine.

That seems pretty conclusive. Thanks y'all.

Edit: from a DR point of view, would I need to have multiple versions of Vrayspawner running on each machine (i.e. a 2013 AND a 2014 version), or could I just run the latest (2015) version on all machines?

I would assume that you need one for each max version - the spawner half opens a copy of max and there's a different one for each installed version.

Although I havent tried DR with the different versions Im with Neilg on this one, having a separate install and spawner for each.
