  • Rebusfarm updates

For those that use Rebus there is an updated application "rebus drop" for download

    https://www.rebusfarm.net/en/lets-go/download

Rebus has got me through quite a few crazy deadlines in the past and I can't say enough good things about them!

The new application looks like it will save a lot of time when sending off large render jobs.
I have a HUGE job that I am working on now and I will report back with how much quicker it is.

I use Rebus. It's easy and has all the bells and whistles, however I think you do pay for the convenience. I had some outfit contact me about their service, which was 1/2 the cost, but I am still with Rebus. Last week I panicked and canceled a render that was almost done. I sent a still, but their manager listed frames; it is just how it renders them. I emailed support and the credited my points back.

We are having a few issues with Rebus at the moment - always been pretty stable and dependable in the past. A render we have just done at 4k shows blotchiness on the ceiling. rendered locally, it is fine. Also, had a few errors uploading jobs with their new system. Anyone else having issues lately?

had a couple of jobs rendered over the weekend and everything went fine with the new rebus drop. even though I think I'll be using the old manager for the time being, as I miss some features that the new system doesn't seem to have, such as the possibility to check on the progress of single frame render jobs.
never had a frame rendering differently from what I set up locally so far though. I think the one time I had that happening was when I had to use ranch as I couldn't upload our files in a reasonable time on the rebus servers.. since the last few versions farminizer is much faster and reliable when collecting textures and submitting jobs.

Sounds good. Hopefully they/we will resolve our current issues.

I have been having some issues with Drop.
It takes over an hour to check/export maps when it should only take a few minutes.
The Rebus support has been excellent and we are working on some issues at the moment.

Rebus didnt work at all for me after the latest update (RebusDrop). Turned out it was an issue with swedish letters Å Ä Ö in the filepath. The support was great and they uploaded an update in less than a day - since then its working better than ever. Really love how they have simplified everything now. After sending a job to the farm it uploads everything, renders and downloads the finished image automatically. I think its dirt cheap too to be honest. (If you render on a single computer that is, if you use their distributed rendering its alot more expensive!)
