  • Madcar bake animation problems

    Hi guys,

I'm currently using madcar plugin. I need to bake the animation. I normally use ani bake from script spot but I've found that for madcar it produces glitches where the wheels tumble strangely at (seemingly) regular keyframe intervals.

I've tried exporting as FBX to bake the animation which does work but still produces strange glitches. I'm assuming this is an issue with Madcar rather than the scripts/export process as it happens with both of them.

Does anyone have an idea as to how to cache or bake the animation cleanly ?

    Any help appreciated.
    Regards

i assume you would have notice this, but in the past ive had baked stuff that renders fine but does really glitchy stuff in the viewport when you hit playback.

I rendered an animation with the glitches to see if this would work as in my case it is the other way round. If you play at normal speed in the viewport you don't see the glitches but you do if you play at 1/4 speed or render the animation. I'm assuming this is because of sub frame tweening. A real pain the arse !

The glitches are very real and no baking script can deal with them. You get better -but not at all perfect- results if you create dummy objects for the wheels and chassis to receive the baking and the wheel dummies are linked to the chassis dummy. You can fix the imperfections by simply deleting those keys in the curve editor. They're easy to see.

Oh, and be sure to bake the chassis dummy before baking the wheel dummies linked to it.

Oh, and back in November I posted a "scripts wanted" on Scriptspot for something that would do the trick, but nobody replied.

I'm still getting these issues. Other people are not suffering from the baking key anomalies. If I delete the keys it does help but you can still see a strange twisting where the rotations do no align properly.
