I am working on a large project and trying to use XRef's. How do you change the xref display? Now, they display as one of the textures wrapped around a box.

What type of xref? Scene Xrefs? Object Xrefs? Xref material?

There's an option to display an xref'd scene as a box maybe it is active in your case ?
