  • VRayLight Maxscript access to "Units": Default

For VRayLights is there MAXScript access for the units of the vray light?

The reason is we're having major problems in scenes because Radiant Power/Luminous Power distribute light problematically when the lights themselves are scaled down.

In Vray 2.5 this isn't a problem, but you can see in 3.0 either "power" settings different.

If you are asking about changing units type command, it's "normalizeColor". I tried to reproduce your problem, but I couldn't -

If it was that easy, it would have already been done

As illustrated, please scale a light and set the units to "Radiant Power", not radiance.

"Radiance" and "Luminance" do not have this problem, only the "Power" versions of these.

It would be good to check out a scene, though I'm not quite sure it is a bug - still would be good to check.

          Best regards,

Sure thing Vlado. Give me a few and I'll get it to you. Thanks for looking into it. I'm not sure it's a bug either, just wanted to get clarification on the issue.

Here's the scene. Note: this behavior is not synonymous with vray 2.4.

Were you able to replicate this behavior on your end? I can dig deeper if you weren't.

                Thanks.

Yes the issue is reproducible with the provided scene, last time you forgot to mention that the lights in your scene are not uniform scaled .. and have tweaked directional parameters
