Is there any way to turn off the "realistic" viewport shading mode completely? I never use it (mostly everything is black) and it seems like my viewports are constantly reverting to it over regular shaded mode.

yes, i too want to disable it permanently! Along with this, i also want to save my gamma setting to 2.2 permanently... -
I couldn't live without it, personally! The realtime shadows are just too important. I use them to determine sun shadows etc. and it can be useful also for client feedback on screen, since the AO shows details quite nicely.Comment
