  • boxed or pleached tree model

I wondered if anyone knew of a library of boxed/pleached trees, something similar to this:-

Its for an animation and we will be going quite close, so it needs to be pretty decent. I have Onyx, but I struggle to generate anything so precise like this.
    Kind Regards,

http://xfrog.com/xfrogplants-landsca...now-available/ As far as I remember there were a few available in this pack from Xfrog, can't seem to open anything from the website though atm.

If this turns out to have a good model or two in it for this please let me know. I was looking for one myself a while ago - something lacking from most libraries it seems. I ended up making a custom one with overscaled leaves. Worked ok but was a huge timesink.

http://storage2.turbosquid.com/Downl...544334_3977237 this is the PDF. There might be some models that are useful, needs a little work though.

Cheers. The geom looks ok but the textures are terrible. Might be worth it I guess.

Let us know how you get on, Richard.

Will do. The XFrog site seems to be having major issues. I've emailed them but who know's if they'll get it?

Mmm - there's only really one which looks at all useful, and that is difficult to tell because I can't view the plan of it. A bit reluctant to throw that kind of money at it: its quite a gamble.

You could modify an Onyx tree. I have a file somewhere if you think it might be useful.

Maybe the hedges in HQ Plants1 can work, then just raise it up and stick some stems underneath as the trunk?
                    Kind Regards,

This is actually what I've started doing.

I don't see a box shaped tree in that collection.

ATree 3D (http://www.avizstudio.com/tools/atree3d/) has an option to constrain the branches within a volume. Maybe that's all you need to create those trees. And it's free.
