  • Afterburn crashing new max (original 9 year old file was fine)

    Hi all

I have a couple of scenes with Afterburn that's about 8 or 9 years old. That time I was rendering with VRay 1.49 or something and later also with VRay 1.5 sp2. I had to render with the max frame buffer and also with gamma 1.0 (Non LWF).
That time Afterburn didn't support any gamma correction. This was with afterburn 4.0

Anyways fast forward to today and newer max and VRay 3.20.02 and as soon as it gets to the "preparing afterburn", max crashes. That is without changing the original scene. I updated afterburn to the latest 4.1.4.
If I disable afterburn in Max environment settings, then the scene renders fine but obviously without the FX I need.

I tried the new gamma setting in Afterburn, but that doent make a difference. I now disk cached about 10 Pflows, which are the only difference.

So, anybody still using Afterburn that can shed some light on the subject?
    Kind Regards,
    Morne

Can you get me either the scene itself or a crash dump to vlado@chaosgroup.com ?

    Best regards,
    Vlado
I only act like I know everything, Rogers.

Did you receive the file Vlado?
I also tried with scanline but it does the same, so the chances are a little less that its Vray's fault?
        Kind Regards,
