Is this a giant leap forward or an incrementation on existing GPU hardware ? I can't believe that Nvidia would make such a big leap when they could make millions from all the iterations in between.

The chaos guys had mentioned that the next level of nvidia chip (maxwell) was a decent step forward but the one after that is going to be really significant for us.

The GPU thing for me means quicker vrayRT previews which can only be a good thing. Viewport performance has never really been an issue for me unless working on massive projects which I rarely do. I'm actually more interested in how it will improve performance for Elite Dangerous

32GB HBM with 2 times the transistor count should be great. I just wonder what the price of that will be.
In the meanwhile, it is interesting that AMD have both HBM (4GB, with the Fury X) and 32GB (with the S9170).

They are getting better... but I still see polygons, flickering shadow maps and poor AA

                    Best regards,

Yes. I don't understand why they are not using dynamic tesselation..I guess it is only an E3 demo so hopefully the final game will be slightly more refined

I do find it odd though that if you are trying to be stealthy and you winch someone or something onto a parachute which is obviously visible to anyone in the near vicinity and they scream/bellow quite loudly and a plane is heard overhead and none of the AI bat an eyelid. That kind of detail really annoys me in games. It's like the developers just haven't bothered to think about how to accomplish things in a more believable way !

I love the fact that the technique is based on something that was used in real life though

I want to use gpu in production, I really do! But, its, just, so, damn, unusable right now

Maybe when that card comes out, it might just be the time

Lets hope all the trouble at konami for the past year didn't hurt the game.
I can't remember the last time I actually took time off for a game... maybe I save one of my sick days for uncharted 4 :P (Still really impressed with their last E3 presentation)
