Finding furniture.

Usually a photo of the whole piece of furniture is a good start. Otherwise its just pure luck unless you know something about the piece of furniture or if its a design classic
I think finding that chair is going to be pure luck, so you may as well bite the bullet and model it as best you can IMO

The site is a bit, uh, "Russian-y" but it has the biggest collection of V-ray furniture I'm aware of. If I get 30 pages in and still haven't come across the furniture I want (or a near approximation) that's when I give up searching and model it myself. Or better yet, have a workmate search for you!

That and DesignConnected. And Turbosquid as a last resort. But you'd really need a make and/or model to have a chance.

I have been getting a few interior designers emailing me, complaining about overseas services that they have been using. It's funny, they all start out by apologizing for going to China when they start their conversation. I think it's simply a misunderstanding and nothing to do with China. The interior designers think that they can send photos of furniture and it gets put into the image for no extra fee; they simply need to be educated. I put a clause in my contract about all assets coming from my library and anything specifically requested will be an hourly fee.

I'll add, http://www.3dmodels.cc/
I only bought one there, but it was the only one I could find, and it was set up for V-ray to start.
