anyone have experience with this software? Our mapping dept is considering using it in conjunction with videos taken by drones equipped with cameras.

    Seems awesome.

We have some drone shots I'll have to track, I wonder how this soft could recreate the geo of the terrain.
Is there any other soft in the same field?

I am unaware of other software that does what it does. It recreates the geometry and geo-references it unlike match mover software like these...

Unless I'm mistaken, Synth eyes is not at all the same.
It's a camera matcher/3d tracker software like boojoo or 3D equalizer, but it doesn't recreate the geometry as poly or pointcloud like 4d pix or 123d catch.
I've heard that the latest version of pftrack does 3d reconstruction, and the latest of 3d equalizer seems to do so as well

I wish there would be a offline 123d catch like that isn't limited in picture size/number and accept video files, that we could just let calculate for what ever time needed to have the best 3d model reconstruction possible, even if it takes days, and if it can be distributed across the farm like DR, would be a dream come true.

I know it's not exactly the same but it DOES do mesh creation.

Hum, will try that out tomorrow

Didn't knew it took video footage as well, although I guess I can just export the video to image sequence.

                  Cheers
