I deal with this all the time, which always costs me hours, but I have never stopped to ask. Sometimes, and usually with Evermotion stuff, centering the pivot sends things into space. How do I prevent this from happening?

Are the objects linked to anything, and/or have any scaling on them? Might be good to detach all linking, and reset the X forms.

They are stupid Evermotion lights. I just deleted them and used something else.

When working with Evermotion stuff I usually combine everything into a single mesh. Move the pivot to a more logical location and then go to the Utilities Tab and do a Reset XForm. And then collapse to an editable mesh. That usually cleans them up. Although you might loose VRay hair or displacement modifiers. But that probably wouldn't be the case for lights.

I'll make a habit of that. It's a pain in the butt and it costs me a ton of time,
