  • Backburner issue...

    Hi all...

How do i change the render timeout time in backburner ??? it's set to 50 min and i can't find how to change it to somthing longer... this is really a big problem since all my renders never end and keep starting over!!!

    regards,
    bakbek.

Either edit it in the queue monitor or before you send the render click on advanced in the Network job assignment dialog box.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers

      Im having backburner issues too.

Some frames render quite quickly (9mins) then others take 6 hours!

      Any thoughts?

          No problem Babek

Chris: Have you got all the maps etc set up correctly in the max.ini file? Otherwise the machines will take longer to pull all the maps etc. Not usually 6hrs though

Are the machines the same spec?

            Hi again...

alll was fine for a render or two then...

i get "JPEG - Invalid image file header" and the same task starts over again... !!! but the image is saved to disk!!! (i didn't save to jpeg... i saved to tiff)
this is a real pain in the A..

why us that ? can i define not to rerender on error but move on to next task ?

            regards,
            bakbek.

It could be refering to a texture that is saved as a jpg. In networks with heavy load, some servers might not load some textures if there are a lot of them. Maybe they sometimes also load them corrupted if the machine is busy flushing its memory between frames. Anyway, this question is best suited on the discreet 3dsmax web board.

Chris, are you using the new internal build? I encounterd this sort of
problem yesterday with refractive objects generating GIs. Renders fast
on a my standalone but hogs when network rendered. I'm not really sure
if its internal specific as I haven't got the time to debug right now....

I only managed to solve it by wrapping the mat and unchecking the
                generate GI option..

v_wrangler - Im not using the internal build. Still using 1.09r. I have the internal build but having a few issues authorizing it.
