  • Hair for Low Poly Game Character - methods?

    Hi all

    So its been 10 years since I last had to worry about "low poly" and undoubtedly things have changed a bit since then.
    If I have a low poly character ready for realtime, how do you deal with hair for the little guy? Can I just stick a Max Hair and Fur modifier on him, or would you just model fake "cartoony" hair?

    Depends on the style of the haircut. Max hair and fur won't export so if you're doing long / soft hair it'll have to be alpha mapped planes, if it's something more solid and cartoony like johnny bravo maybe model it and use some bump / texture mapping for the lines of the strands?

      In terms of rigging, will CAT work or does that also not export?
