I am trying to use the shapemerge tool, however it is failing; absolutely nothing happens. I simply want to carve out some paths on a plane. Has anyone come across this? Is there a workaround.

are you trying to do all shapes at once? maybe try one at a time? make sure the splines are closed splines.

One at a time doesn't even work. No worries, I worked around it.
