  • New Google earth 3d models export

So couple of years ago we could export models from Google Earth via DX Ripper , but that joy ended with version 7 of Google Earth. Someone said that they changed something because Google was aware about that.
So i started to dig info about how the hell i can get those models out. And surprisingly there is nothing out there. I tried all the solutions - none of them works.
Anyone has ideas about how that can be done ? Again , those are not sketchup models , and not old 3d models. These are new 3d-scanned (i suppose) streets wich you can see on new google maps. Thing is that this covers a lot of cities and i really really need one

Ah.. that is really really sad , it could be an awesome tool. I don't think Vlado will do such thing as pretty obvious that is violation of Google terms of usage

None of the 3d Rippers work for this? It would be fantastic to be able to get the models out of google earth.

Kind of not really usefull as people with no access to a crapple device have no access to this. While everybody can use google maps.

Tried all Rippers i could find - none of them could catch new Earth. With some of them Eartch just hanged up.
Well if we can extract models from Apple - it does not really matters where they are from. They just should be in this new scanned type.

The point is getting the data out of there, not buying there device

Yes that wasn't my point, but I don't think exporting the whole world is an option if a way of extracting is found. What I mean is that if I need an area extracted I would have to gain access to an OSX device first.

Actually did this last week. wasn't easy but is possible

Get an old version of google earth. Think it was 6.something

                      Then use this
                      http://www.3dvia.com/forums/topic/3dvia-printscreen

Had to hit print a good few times but eventually it captured a 3dxml

                      then use http://www.simlab-soft.com/3d-plugin...DPDF-main.aspx

                      you get 15 free exports

                      good luck

ive tried the route of using older versions of google earth, but ive found that the older versions load the older (non-photogrammetry) models .. id be interested to know if you got the latest models out of it, and if so which version of earth actually worked.

Thanks for sharing, though this is old and well-known way to get old style sketchup models in one batch. We are talking about 7.x versions

No couldn't get the new photogrammetry models as I could only get it to work with version 6. something can't remember which one.

I needed a block model of singapore for the background of an image so didn't really need the newer models.

Capture images from Google Earth and send to 123d catch. Not 100% perfect, but works for some cases ok...
