max 2016 - MyDocuments/3dsMax/scenes

every F*n time I save a F*n max file it goes to F*n MyDocuments/3dsMax/Scenes instead of the directory where I opened the F*n file - driving me F*n crazy

what gives?

It's your project manager - max 2016 seems to be more annoying in this regard though.

You can register a post-open callback which sets your project path....

fn setSavePath =
(
setdir #scene maxfilepath
)

callbacks.addScript #filePostOpen "setSavePath()" id:#dwTools

That should work.... just dump it in your start-up scripts folder as a .ms file.
