  • Bump pass element

Anything like a bump pass element? It would be awesome to have control over bump maps in post.

Hmm, that's partially normals and partially the amount of contrast in your lighting channels - bump is a renderer trick to brighten and darken a surface driven by the map - it'll affect your raw light, ref and spec. You could increase or reduce the bump slightly in post by messing with the contrast levels of your raw light. Some of the comping packages let you relight renders via normals too. There's less ways to undistort reflections / refractions though.

I'll play with it. Like reflection and specular, it would be nice to boost wood grains and other things, in post production.

Does anyone know how to use the BumpNormals pass in Photoshop? Is it at all possible without plugins? I know Nuke/Fusion can handle them to relight in post.

Cool! So straightforward! Imagine the things you could do with a fresnel element plus this normals pass. Make all edges on the left side get a rim light? Nice.
