How do I turn off the DOF viewport preview effect?

Max help says open up render setup and it's in the camera rollout but I think it's talking about Mental Ray. So how do I turn it off permanently when using Vray ?

Disable DOF for your physical camera.

hehe, yes I can do that but I just find it annoying that there is no way to turn it off so I don't have to keep switching it back on when rendering.
