Hi,My company is doing some re-structuring and decided to replace all workstations with laptops over some sort of cloud system.Knowing that my workstation now is often doing weekend stretches of 50-60 hours at 100%, I was worried as to how would laptop cope with that?Does anyone here have any experience with this combination? Potential pitfalls or benefits like overheating, file transfer, speed, thing like that. Thanks in advanceZoran

I'm using Alienware, it's my second one and they are very stable...they are made to run several hours @ 100%. It's a portable workstation in my experience. the old one had 2 video cards and the new ones only one, Dell also changed the ram capacity from 32GB to 16GB I think. ( it looks like Alienware was beating up their professional/small business laptops. (precision)show me the money!!

Hi guys,
My thanks to everyone. I did some testing the other day (Lenovo P50). Left it run for 9 hours on all processors at 100% and it was all OK.
The case was a bit hot on the outside and it looked like fans are on full speed but it didn't crash. Zoran

Also look at getting a cooling pad for your laptop, my old belkin one would drop the temp of my old laptop by about 10 degrees C, but it was pretty cheep and the fan died after about 2 years.
Looking at getting a deepcool one for my current laptop.Gavin Jeoffreys
