  • What do you use for ceramic floor tiles?

Probably a boat-load out there... I'm looking at VizPark Walls and Tiles. Any experiences or other software to check out? Mighty Tiles Pro is kaput apparently (plus I heard it was obscenely expensive).

Anyone using CG-Floor Generator? Version 2 was just announced today. Looks like it's geared more or wood floors though.

Floor generator or Railclone if it needs some more complex pattern.

Depends on what you're aiming for, very close shots, mid distance etc.

I bought Mighty tiles a few years back, but shortly after you were obliged to pay and update to use it on new max versions. I found the price exagerated and dropped it definitely.

Wall and tiles is nice, I see it as a bercon maps UI. You can define every type of pattern you may imagine (after some headscratching) with the custom bercon values... It will generate not generate any geometry outside of the displacement. It's working good, good support, needs some viewport performance adjustments or it will be slow as hell. But the plugin will tell you what to do when launching it. You can deal easily with mortar settings. Has some nice presets.

Floor generator 2 finally works on all axis (woohooo), it's always a good solution if you have your maps ready, you have to create the mortar. Combined with multitexture, it's a rock solid method. I wish you could generate custom patterns...

And then comes Railclone which can do everything FG does, excluding dealing with multitexture. It's very efficient but tricky in the beginning. I really started using it (out of it's very useful presets included) 2 monthes ago, and it's damn great. Itoosoft support is amazing.

FG is free, 2.0 is 20€. Railclone is 200€ but worth every penny. I don't remember W&T price because I bought the big bundle full of stuff which is a bargain (trees with growfx files etc.).

IMO you should get them all

        Hi,

Just to add that RailClone will work with Multitexture, but in Material ID mode. We have a post on our knowledge base about how to use it in case it's helpful.

        Thanks!
