If it fixes that I am happy. But the disappearing bug could also occur while looking at the object from a medium range.

It also allows for importing python modules as maxscript objects. This is very nice if you have maxscript tools that should interact with python code. A common example would be having maxscript tools that use ftrack's or shotgun's python api modules.
What it can do? Similar to maxscript, with full qt support and being a more common and (generally speaking) a better language. It's not done, but has come quite far, and the new implementation makes me consider it as a target for all production code here.

We're a small place with one sloppy coder (me) so a basic shotgun implementation out of the box would be perfect for me and as you say it's full python and not a wrapper so it's a good opportunity to convert everything over to a more universal language!

Anyone else?
EDIT: This is on a GTX 970
That's strange, Autodesk would be interested to analyse your scene if you're able to share it??Maxscript made easy....

If you don't MaxScript, then have a look at my blog and learn how easy and powerful it can be.

I've been testing it a bit this morning and it's kinda weird... I managed to have 240 mil polygons and 4000 objects... still responds in "Performance" mode and about 8 fps... But if i have a single object with 20mil it's really slow, like 5 fps, and max 2015 is faster.
Also UV editor is really slow, 100k polys object, i try to unwrap it... forget about it... Simple peel takes 2 min, navigation is SUPER slow... I don't understand what's going on to be honest, in their video it seems really quick.
Sub-objection selection is indeed quick IF you don't orbit around, if you do, it freezes for 5-8 seconds before you can orbit again. Again, simple sphere 1mil polys, not as fast as they show in the video.
I have a GTX 980 Ti... Updated drivers too. Win 10.

What about the asset browser? Looked pretty nice. I hadn't seen that before. I've been using Connector by DesignConnected. Works awesome for drag 'n drop propping from my prop library. It will be interesting to see how 2017 compares. Then again, it's such a pain to migrate from one version to the next, I think I'll wait a bit.David Anderson

I am sure they know it. How can you work on software for a year and not know that the snap is broken. My hunch is, they know people wait fo SP1 to upgrade, so they are probably fast tracking it. Soon, we'll be waiting for SP2, knowing SP1 is just a gimmick.
