  • Relink Bitmap

I have a model that I am trying to relink some bitmaps, however, every time I try, MAX crashes. I tried Collins script and PathfinderPro, but with both, MAX crashes. Anybody come across this? Any solutions?

Have you tried max default bitmap finder in utilities tab?

idk what's up but collin scripts manages to link to some files and then not to others, i then found the maps manually and pointed the script directly to the folder where i knew the missing bitmaps were and it stil would not link them, i did it as a test, just wont work on the remaining maps, it was full proof before but not its letting me down and uninstalling and reinstalling everything is far off now i would say, any other re linking solutions out there?

not 100 percent sure about this but i had convert paths to unc checked in max, since i unchecked it, it now finds all bitmaps, maybe this was it, its the only thing i changed in max

Mine is not checked, so I'll check it and try the latest build. I don't remember unchecking it. Is it not checked by default?

Thats really strange, I have been using that one for a couple years and have had no problems at all with it and I always have convert to UNC turned on. When I use RB I usually turn on search sub folders and ignore case.
                Cheers,

Bobby, did you ever figure this out? I'm just catching back up on this forum. Been busy. If anyone can let me know how to reproduce it (ie. if UNC paths are not checked, then it won't relink, or whatever) I'll fix it up for next build.

probably I've found a bug fo RB.
If you have bitmaps under a VrayMultiSubTex , it seems RB can't relink anything.

                        Anyone experienced this?

                        I have 3dsmax 2016 and RB 2.09
