  • Panting Dog

My workstation is pretty silent, even at high loads, however, I do hear a soft panting sound. Or, it could be described as a steam engine. Mind you, it is really hard to hear. Should I have any concerns?

Have you checked the hamster, it could be getting tired.

Does it matter what the load is? Does it's frequency change?
It could be a fan that is going? If you have a fan monitor/tool you could try changing their speeds and see if the "pant " changes.

It happens under load. I do monitor the drive, which is reading healthy. I'll keep an eye on it.

don't know why but I read painting dog in the thread title. it's a bummer to find out this is not about a dog painting pictures with its paws.

Link bait I read around last night, on the web, and it seems to be perfectly normal. Most described it as a breathing sound.
