Weired lines in some files

  • Weired lines in some files

    I have some weired lines that turn up in some files that i got, they are unselectable, not on any layer and comes up when anything is isoloted, nothing isn't frozen in the scene and idk what else is there that it could be, any ideas guys? maybe its something simple am missing but now i can't think of what it might be, saw this once before last year in a few but now again in this

    Did you use the populate people that come with max in that scene?

      actually yeah, i did but just to make it clear i have seen it also in files where i didn't use 3ds max populate at all

        I had problems like that, too, but it's been awhile. It seems that in my case, Evermotion stuff was the cause. Actually, Evermotion is a cause to many of my problems. My layer issues come from Evermotion stuff. Delete your Evermotion stuff and it'll go away.

          dam, i use too much of them it seems, i wish i knew the specifics of it, evermotion recently has been coming out with some nice stuff but i think i might be at fault just importing willy nilly in the same file but it takes more time to import in another file then into the one am actually working on, uff, it causes no errors it seems but i love to keep clean scenes sometimes so this was just annoying

            It might just be their older stuff. Anyway, I use the copy/paste script, so I never merge anything, anymore. I keep a second MAX session open, copy what I need to the clipboard and paste it into my active project.

              use that alot myself and also connector, i should try merging the whole thing into a new scene to see though, layer by layer, will take awhile but maybe i will find the cause

                Allrighty then. In the populate panel, open the display panel by clicking on the word "Display" (with the little dropdown arrow next to it). UNTICK "Show Marks"

                  Thanks Morne! is this current scene that seems to fix it! but weired is on autodesk forums no one even suggested something as this, you think people there would know more
