3dsmax roll bug

So I set the camera to a particular roll angle and click on the transform icon...it resets the roll. I'm assuming the only way to stop this is to apply keyframes ?

Update: Nope, not even keyframes resolves this bug...which incidentally has been in max since at least 2009 !

If you link it to a dummy and "roll" the dummy?
