  • Grabbing large res maps from google

trying to find a solution to this, grabing a screenshot from google doesn't seem to give a good resolution image unless i plan to spend hours to cut and put zoomed in map parts together which would be a real pain, any known way of grabbing large maps anyone here knows about? or anyother solution to google would be good

I have this workflow > Menu on the left > share or embed map > custom size (choose whatever) and then I use Fireshot to capture the entire page in firefox (the only reason I have it installed).

That nonimapview thingy doesn't seem to be working with google maps. Stays black.

Why don't you grab large res maps from google earth pro?
The pro version does allow you to save images as large as 4800 x 3645 pixels.

I dont understad how any of those two soft works

With nonimap, it's a *.jar or *.jnlp extention and I don't know what to do with them.
With Terra Incognita, I can navigate and select a region, but how do I tell him to download in HQ ? Every-time I crop and save to whatever filetype, I have a small jpg the same size as what I have on the screen.

                        Cheers

                          That's what this is for - http://www.west-racing.com/mf/?page_id=2979

The height map part of it is a little low res unless you're doing a background mountain range, but it can grab maps from google earth at whatever resolution google has them at. we use it on every single large scale job.

It seems it should be covered though
