Select camera and target in menu

Is there any way to achieve this result for the viewport camera menu? (See attached.)


Did max ever have this option? For some reason, I feel I remember it some time ago.

I'm positive this can be scripted.
You now that single click onto the line of sight (connects camera to the target) will select both?
I'm on Max2016 and, funny enough, crossing/window selecting the same line selects only the camera ( I have right-left crossing).

@zoranm - Thanks, yes, you're right. I forgot to mention I only really need this while looking through the (active) camera.
